Let’s talk about GOALS. 🏆💪🏼 The other day we showed you in our stories two homes that we wanted to buy in the future. 🏠🌴 The response we got from you was actually a confused one. 😂 “How and why?” You asked. 🤔 Basically for the past 12 months we have been setting audacious goals. We have taken out all minor and negative thoughts. This sunrise set the bar for our adventures in #SriLanka. 🌞🇱🇰 We were dying to get out of Colombo and head for the beach. After one night in the city #Hikkaduwa was our first stop. 🌊 And what a first stop it was. Apart from suffering from jet lag and there being the usual touristy crowds, we were just so happy to be next to the ocean again. Amongst the beach bars and palm trees. 🌴🥥 As the world began to wake up whilst we were in the water, we felt an overwhelming sense of happiness and gratitude. 🙏🏼 Little did we know that these feelings would only amplify and grow bigger each day we were there. 🙃 We didn’t really research what to do in Sri Lanka and we’re so glad we didn’t. Throughout this whole period we have been doing our best to keep up with daily routines, trying to normalise our life and continue as if nothing is happening out there. 🏋🏼✍🏼🧘🏼‍♀️🥗 It just hit us though, especially today because it just feels like a different vibe. We fully thought it was a Saturday and didn’t get out of bed till after 9am. 😅 Anyway, we have been home over one month now and even though we have completed a few projects and worked on some others, there is really no difference in our days. It 100% feels like Groundhog Day everyday. 🌍 EARTH DAY 🌍 The reason we care so much for our earth is because we have witnessed first hand how much destruction we cause it. We have seen trash in isolated places and animals mistreated. 😞 We love that our planet has a day dedicated to itself where we can all raise awareness together but in reality, we need 365 days of this, not just 24 hours. 🙌🏼💪🏼 We all need to be living more sustainably. It doesn’t take much. We are always sharing tips on how we can start making small conscious changes. ♻️ The biggest two? - Don’t eat (or eat less) animal products, meat or milk. 🐄 - And say no to plastics. Straws, bags, food packaging etc. 🗑 In the end it’s the small adjustments that will make the biggest, most affective change. One of the things that made me fall in love with Luke was his adventurous spirit. ♥️ He's the one that convinced me to go traveling instead of going to dance school back in 2014. We are just like you. 👫🏼 We come from ‘broken homes’ and families that didn’t have wealth. Small towns way outside of major cities. We have no university education and most of our employment history is either supermarkets, restaurants or cafes. Throughout most of our lives our parents didn’t know what they would do with us. People saw us as kids with no aspirations, we were ‘hopeless’, ‘bums’. “When are you going to get a real job?” was a frequently asked questions amongst our families. . Yesterday, when we said we earned over $5000 in 24 hours during quarantine it wasn’t to gloat. It was to inspire you. 💪🏼 Two kids, just like you, who have been together since they were teenagers, who could have been your friends in high school, who are staying in their parents house during self isolation, with hard work and perseverance, are making their dreams into a reality. 💭🚀🌍 .
