Working out barefoot can help you better feel how your weight is being displaced on your feet. My favorite lifting shoes were Chuck Taylors because they are really flat and I can feel the ground better than other shoes with a lot of cushioning. Running sneakers are not ideal for weight lifting they have too much cushion which will cause slight shifting left and right when you're lifting heavyweight. The shifting reduces the amount of force you can drive into the ground. . If clients don't have any feet issues suggest for them to get some Chuck Taylors, they are lightweight, cheap and are great for strength training at the gym. . Are Your Clients Doing Single Arm Goblet Squat? As a personal trainer, it's sometimes best to keep things simple and safe, but that doesn't mean you have to keep things boring. Try spicing up your training sessions by adding Single Arm Goblet Squats. . After your clients have success doing a regular goblet squat the single-arm goblet squat is a great way to progress their workout and work on their rotary stability. . By holding one KB to one side of the body, the kettlebell weight forces the body to further stabilize itself and to resist the rotational forces placed on it. . Goblet squats are generally safer than back squats and are a great movement for your clients, to begin with. This movement teaches your client who has little experience in the weight room decent squat form. If they can keep the weight in contact with their chest and their elbows touch their knees at the bottom they are good to go. If not, the fixes are relatively easy to address. . Initiate by pushing the hips back, pushing the knees out, keeping the chest up and go as deep as you are comfortable. The deeper you go the more you'll engage your glutes and hamstrings. . Try it out yourself and then on your clients. Start with 6-8 reps per side and then switch sides. . Give it a try today and let me know what you think. . #personaltrainer #fitness #gym #workout #fitnessmotivation #fit #training #bodybuilding #motivation #fitfam #personaltraining #health #gymlife #exercise #instafit #muscle #lifestyle #weightloss #coach #crossfit #healthylifestyle #healthy #gymmotivation #cardio #trainer #fitnessmodel #nutrition #strong #thetrainingnotebookapp

What book has changed your life? . "The ONE Thing" by Gary W. Keller, Jay Papasan - After reading this book multiple times I have changed the way I run my life. I no longer work on whatever issue is in front of me, I ask my self . "What's the ONE Thing you can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?" . I ask this question for my nutrition, business, workouts, money, happiness and relationships and it helps me focus where to start. . I highly recommend this book . What book has changed your life? . Personal Trainer: Programming Basics 📝 Training your clients doesn't have to be complicated as long as you have a system in place to build personal training programs . A simple system is to break down your training session into 3 phases, warm-up, main movements, finisher . Yes, every client is different but if you build workouts with this in mind you will build effective training sessions for all your clients . Phase 1: Warm-up / corrective exercises 🤸🏼‍♀️ Design a personal warm-up for your clients that they can do before every workout. This is where you get to show off all your knowledge, the warm-up should include rehab, mobility, stability, and flexibility movements that you know will benefit your client's muscular balance, core strength, address injuries and increase flexibility . If you can train your clients to do a custom warm-up before your session even starts you'll get a lot more done during your training session. The same will go for the finisher . Phase 2: Main movements 🏋🏻‍♂️ This is where you program the meat and potatoes of the workout go. The big compound movements you learned when you got your personal training certification go first usually deadlifts, squats, and lunges and for the upper body a horizontal push, pull and vertical push and pulls . If you have online personal training clients you can use our app The Training Notebook to email your clients all of their workouts with color-coded circuits and links to tutorial videos . Phase 3: Finisher 🚴🏻‍♀️ This is when you get your clients to sweat and get that feeling of "damn that was a good workout!" . Many clients are under the impression that you have to sweat and be sore to have a good workout and that's what the last 10 minutes of the training session can be . By adding EMOM, HIIT, Crossfit, Sprints, boxing, aerobic, and anaerobic exercises into the last 10 minutes of the workout you will give your clients what they want... sweat and some muscle soreness

Intermittent fasting - abstaining from food for 16 to 18 hours a day could be key to treating a variety of health conditions -- even if you've got to train yourself to push past the hunger. . It’s pretty simple . You don’t need to measure out food or buy any prepackaged shakes. There are no required weigh-ins or calorie counting.
