I grew up in #Ferndale Michigan, which, let’s be honest, wasn’t very cool back when I was growing up. One of the best stores in the city was an enormous Dollar Store and quite a few storefronts were empty. Now, though, Ferndale is a place people want to live AND visit. It hosts tons of small independent shops, breweries, restaurants, and so much more, including @detroitcookiecompany. These are EASILY some of the best cookies I’ve ever had in my life. It looks like a perfect day for apple picking, but then we got there and it was 90 degrees. 😬 😅 . . Still, apple picking is one of my favorite things to do each fall. There were some great orchards and cider mills near where I grew up in southeast Michigan, and we are a short drive to a few different ones now, including today’s destination, @kellersfarmstand. Milk grosses me out. None of us drink it. I never really thought about it in terms of all the coffee I drink until yesterday. Not sure how it’ll react with .......... . . Anyone else hate social media? I write post after post like this and delete them. My life is mine and I love it, but day to day it’s so ordinary that I find myself grasping to find something Instagram-worthy. And honestly, most of the time I don’t want to find something to post. I don’t want to make an element of my life seem more awesome than it is. Everything I post is heartfelt and, I hope, a reflection of my real life. When I disappear for days or weeks, it’s because I’m happily living my ordinary life and not searching out a unique moment to share. . .
