Fuckin' hell. Congratulations to my brother Jhett Tolentino -- the greatest Filipino film and musical theater producer walking the planet today.
Aside from being the only Pinoy to win both Tony and Grammy Awards for separate projects, his new film LINGUA FRANCA is currently dominating the world and has now won seven major awards in ultra-prestigious competitions including the Bentonville Film Festival in the US, the Special Jury Diploma at the 49th Kyiv International Film Festival, and the Oslo/Fusion International Film Festival.
His pipeline is now 30 projects deep to be completed in 10 years at US$100M, with a financing structure for 2 years, which I will ABSOLUTELY help fund.
Although I have no interest as of the moment in financing any musicals, fun to share that one of Jhett's fully completed projects (script, score, direction, choreography, etc.) is a Broadway musical set in the 60's, 70's and 80's about Martial Law. He's targeting Bruno Mars for Ferdinand Marcos, Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls as Imelda, and Darren Criss of Glee as Ninoy Aquino.
Jhett has won three Tony Awards, one Grammy Award, and the Presidential Award from President Rodrigo Duterte in 2018.
His goal:
"Commercial Altruism. The revolutionary push for Philippine cinema and theatrical representation to the global entertainment market. Merging Broadway, Hollywood and Filipino artists with Asian capital."
