I can’t tell you how much this gross, sweaty photo with my two bestest girls #lilylovemiller and @imzohungry means to me! I have had what seems like the longest, 12 1/2 month postpartum recovery and am finally feeling strong and healthy 💪🏻! I never mentioned that my health struggled from pregnancy and my crash c-section with Lily because I didn’t want to scare anyone who might be pregnant or sound like I couldn’t handle it, but I delivered Lily early due to severe preeclampsia and was back in the ER a week later and diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia which stayed for 6 weeks. It was such a scary time - while i was learning to be a mommy, run a new business and also trying to keep myself alive.
Fast forward 6 months my symptoms of breathlessness and high bp/pulse returned and I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease which they think was brought on by the stress from my pregnancy issues. I was advised not to workout until it was under control (right after I felt like I was kinda getting my groove back) so today after completing my second @soulcycle class in two days with my sweet baby waiting for me outside and my beautiful sister teaching, I really couldn’t be prouder knowing what my body has battled in the last year.
Knowing what I know now, I would do it a million times over again for our sweet girl! I wanted to finally share my story because it was the opposite of a picture perfect delivery and recovery that I had planned. It’s important to advocate for yourself and ask for help if you need it! Also I felt like I knew no one going through the same thing, so I am always here if you want to talk about anything - baby related, pregnancy related, Denver related, #preclampsiaawareness, fashion, #gravesdisease, thyroid crap, we are all in this together 😘. #soulcycledenver #denver #sweatingforthewedding
