After reading about the disturbing U.N. Global Climate Change Report that was released a few days ago, I felt an urgency to reassess my lifestyle choices and notice the places where I can improve. Today on Stories, I shared some of the things Iām currently working on to lessen my environmental impact. I say āworking onā because no one is perfect. We can all, always, do better. Often times putting the Earth first requires us to make sacrifices in our own lives that may make us uncomfortable and that we may not want to make. Like for me, shopping online less even though itās really convenient, talking to my loved ones about their daily use of plastic water bottles, showering every other day, rethinking my consumption of cow (and other animal) products, getting on my bike instead of always reaching for my car keys, remembering to always bring my reusable tote bag, matcha mug, water bottle and utensils with me when I leave the house, favoring a smaller, more deliberate wardrobe of natural fabrics over consuming and supporting fast fashion and synthetic materials. The list goes on and on. It also involves using my vote to elect leaders who see climate change as a real threat to humanity. Leaders who arenāt afraid to draw hard lines when it comes to enacting policy change that puts the Earth first. Every little thing we do and donāt do adds up. Iād love to know what things you are working on to lessen your environmental impact? #WuHaus #loveourplanet šš
