In 2018, Superhost Linda’s daughters sketched this place, including the net hammocks built into the balcony, on a scrap of paper. In 2020, it opened to guests, some of whom have already booked a return visit. The hammock, hot tub, and Hill Country calm might be all you need, but it’s also a short drive from lots of lakes and outdoor adventures. Along the way, pick up a pecan pie from the Blue Bonnet Cafe, a 92-year-old cafe that’s just hitting its stride. Photo: @that.travel.diary

Wishlist Emma’s remote house only if you don’t mind having three views—of the sea, the forest, and Mt. Snowdon—calling you in different directions. One option is to stick around and wander the 20 acres of ponds, streams, and woodland. Another is to go all out: mountain climbing, walking forest trails, and even surfing. Just be sure to make it home in time to gather around the big table for dinner. Any leftovers will be handled by a highly efficient team of pigs and goats. Photo: @michael.w.90

Borja’s riverside house is tailor-made for letting the days float by, but there’s also plenty to do both on and off the water. Luckily, your host is an expert on just about all of it, from renting a kayak to exploring the canyons and vineyards of the Galician countryside to finding the least resistible empanadas gallegas around. A few years ago, future Superhosts Jane and Chris visited the area to show their sons snow for the first time. The trip was apparently a hit, because the couple have since transformed a local fixer-upper into a year-round alpine retreat. It’s practically around the corner from a ski resort that transforms when the snow melts into a mountain biking park. If you’d rather kayak or canoe, the lake is five minutes away. Springtime means back-to-work time for the beavers in the pond below this secluded treehouse. But thanks to builder and Superhost Derek, the work on your place is done, so you can sit on your back deck and watch nature’s home renovation show. When you feel like exploring, venture out to discover Texas Falls and other gems of the Green Mountain National Forest. Photo: @vermontretreet

When the cricket orchestra starts warming up, that’s your cue to line up your spring or summer getaway. Superhost Sonya’s classic Catskills A-frame is midcentury chic on the inside and teeming with life on the outside. Head to the farmers market in Hancock for fresh local veggies to grill, or just follow the creek in your backyard to Silver Lake. Video: @catskillaframe

Your backyard is 120 private acres of Pipes Canyon, so you probably won't be spending much time indoors. But try to linger inside long enough to watch the design interact with the changing Mojave light. This modern retreat was made for putting aside distractions and focusing on what’s important. If you must multitask, head to the hot tub nightly to soak and stargaze. Photo: @hawkandmesa

Luca and Lorenzo learned to make pasta from their nonnas, who must have been hilarious, because their grandsons’ Online @airbnbexperiences class blends time-honored techniques with perfectly al dente humor. You’ll end up with ravioli and four other varieties (all made from scratch), a sore face from smiling, and a desire to visit Florence ASAP, preferably to become their apprentice. Avid travelers Kelly and Jeff became Superhosts by creating a space that has everything they want when they’re on the road. Judging by the interior of their spacious apartment, they might have overshot their goal. Downtown and the riverside promenade are within easy walking distance; put a hop in your step first with a steaming cup of Six One Six from Madcap Coffee. Photo: @innonjefferson

Australian photographer Lisa set out for the countryside with two goals in mind: open space for her young boys to roam free and some time well spent in nature. She found that much, and more, during a stay at Sarah’s restored farmhouse outside Eumundi in Queensland, Australia. From running the green rolling hills by day to evening campfires under the stars, the boys enjoyed a true taste of country living. This is just one of the millions of trips that take place on Airbnb, made possible by Hosts.

When Alex and his wife decided to take their young son on his first big trip, they headed to Île de Ré, a seaside getaway just a train ride away from Paris. Host Emmanuel’s Green Door Villa proved the perfect place to connect as a family, with all the room they needed to accommodate their toddler’s energy. Together, they spent a weekend exploring the winding alleys, windswept beaches and their new home away from home. This is just one of the millions of trips that take place on Airbnb, made possible by Hosts.

The number of anti-Asian hate crimes has alarmingly grown since the pandemic. We also recognize that discrimination towards Asians and Pacific Islanders has been a longstanding and global issue. Today, we are reaffirming our commitment to our mission and our commitment to fight racism in all forms. Airbnb is donating a total of $500,000 to Asian Americans Advancing Justice - AAJC, Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta (with funds going directly to support families of the victims of last week's violence), Center for Pan Asian Services, and GoFundMe.org's AAPI Community Fund. Join us in standing up to these injustices. Link in bio to learn more. #StopAsianHate
